Açelya YILMAZER AKTUNA
Dr. Yilmazer is a prominent researcher in the field of nanomedicine, particularly renowned for her work with both viral and non-viral gene and drug delivery systems, including adenoviral vectors, liposomes, carbon-based materials, and other 2D materials. Her research has been published in highly prestigious journals such as Nano Today, Biomaterials, Small, 2D Materials, and Carbon. Dr. Yilmazer played a significant role in the G-IMMUNOMICS project, funded by the Horizon2020 Flag-ERA 2016 call, where she was the coordinator of the Turkish part and led the work package focusing on the genotoxicity of different graphene-based materials. Her current research in her laboratory is dedicated to exploring the applications of nanomaterials in combating cancer and viral pathogenesis.
